HASON RAJA: THE MYSTIC BARD (হাসন রাজা : মরমী কবি)

A mystic bard is one who writes poems and songs and tries to search the truth through his songs. One of Bangladesh's well-known mystic bards is Hason Raja.. He was born in a wealthy landlord family in 1854. So he at first led a luxurious life. But later he gave away all his property, money and wealth. Then he started to think deeply about the creator, about life and death and mankind. Despite having little formal schooling, Hason Raja created numerous songs and poems.

Some of his songs were written in Hindi. He referred to himself as " Pagla Hasan Raja" in his song.. His songs became popular all over Bangladesh. Some eminent folk singers made his songs popular in India's West Bengal. People like his songs very much.
