We are very familiar with village fair. A village fair is an annual gathering of village people on a particular date and place. It is generally held in an open place under some trees or on the side of the river. It is also held in memory of some saints or a religious and cultural festivals. Useful things, fancy goods, toys, sweetmeats are sold there. Circus and magic shows are the main attraction of the village fair. A village fair is a significant part of culture. It removes the monotony of village life.

A village fair is a fair which is generally held in a village. It is just like a village market. A village fair is held on a particular occasion. It is mainly held in winter and spring. It is a common feature of our rural areas. Village fairs are generally held under spreaded banyan trees or on the banks of big tanks or rivers. On a fixed date fair is held in an open place. This fair is held every year in memory of any ‘fakir’ or ‘dervish’ of bygone days. Most of these fairs have a historical background. In this kind of fair people of all rank and file participate. Here things lie dolls, sweetmeats, baskets and other earthen posts are bought and sold. Circus is a common sight in a village fair. A village fair is often regarded as the meeting place of miscreants and wicked people. So, steps should be taken by the government to make sure that miscreants cannot create and nuisance in the fair.
