Visiting a Zoo (একটি চিড়িয়াখানা পরিদর্শন)
On last Monday I paid a visit to the National Zoo at Mirpur. It is located at the northern part of the city. The area of the zoo is very big. It’s a happy abode of numerous known and unknown birds, reptiles etc. To observe the beauties of these animals at first I went into the shed in which the monkeys were kept. They were jumping from one bar to another. Their performances pleased me much. Our attention was next drawn to the cage in which there were two big pythons. The sight of pythons made my blood creep. Then I turned my eyes from them at the cage of tigers. Their princely roaming threatened me much. Then I went to the cage of birds. There I saw many kinds of birds including tailor birds, singing birds, game birds, teasing birds etc. Among the animals and birds the beauty of the spotted deer was the main attraction. People coming from all ages were enjoying the beauty of the spotted deer. I stayed there for about 3 hours and during the visit my heart was filled with joy.
অনুবাদ : গত সোমবার আমি মিরপুর জাতীয় চিড়িয়াখানায় গিয়েছিলাম এটা শহরের উত্তর পার্শ্বে অবস্থিত। চিড়িয়াখানার অঞ্চলটি খুবই বড়। এখানে বিরল প্রজাতির অসংখ্য পাখি ও সরীসৃপ রয়েছে। এদের সৌন্দর্য দেখার দেখার জন্য প্রথমে আমরা সেই খাঁচায় গিয়েছিলাম যেখানে বানর রাখা ছিল। তারা একক জায়গা থেকে অন্য জায়গায় লাফালাফি করছিল। তাদের এই কর্মকাণ্ডগুলো আমাকে অনেক মুগ্ধ করেছিল। এরপর আমরা একটি খাঁচার কাছে গিয়েছিলাম সেখানে দুটো অজগর রাখা ছিল। যা দেখার পর আমার শরীর হিম হয়ে আসল। তারপর বাঘের খাঁচায় দিকে আমার দৃষ্টি নিবদ্ধ হলো ৷ বাঘের গর্জন শুনে আমার মনে ভয়ের উদ্রেক হলো। আমি অনেক পাখি দেখলাম; তন্মধ্যে পুচ্ছওয়ালা পাখি, গায়ক পাখি, শিকারি পাখি, পালকবিহীন পাখি ইত্যাদি অন্যতম। অনেক প্রাণী ও পাখির মধ্যে ও হরিণের সৌন্দর্য আমাকে মুগ্ধ করেছিল। হরিণের সৌন্দর্য দেখার দেখার জন্য বিভিন্ন বয়সের মানুষ ভিড় করে। আমি সেখানে ৩ ঘণ্টা সময় অতিবাহিত করলাম এবং আমার হৃদয়টা আনন্দে ভরে উঠল।
