A Tea Stall (একটি চায়ের দোকান)
A tea stall is, nowadays, a common sight in towns and in village markets. People can have tea there. The stall has two compartments. In one of them there is the fireplace of the stall and in the other, there are chairs, tables and showcases containing loaves, biscuits, sweetmeats etc. There are stall boys in every tea stall. They serve tea and other refreshment to the customers. People get into a tea stall and take tea. Some go on talking on politics or affairs of the locality as they sip for the cups of tea. Often do nothing, fellows gather in a tea-stall and pass away their time in idle gossip. A tea-stall has visitors from morning till late at night.
অনুবাদ : আজকাল শহর ও গ্রামের বাজারগুলোতে চা-এর দোকান একটা সাধারণ দৃশ্য। সেখানে লোকজন চা খেতে পারে । স্টলের দুটো অংশ থাকে। একটাতে থাকে দোকানের উনুন বা চুলা এবং অন্য অংশে থাকে চেয়ার, টেবিল, মিষ্টি-খোরমা বিস্কুটসহ শো-কেস । প্রত্যেক চা-এর দোকানে স্টল বয় বা পরিচারক থাকে। তারা খরিদ্দারদেরকে চা ও অন্যান্য আহার্য জিনিস সরবরাহ করে। মানুষ চা এর দোকানে যায় এবং চা খায়। কিছু লোক চা-এর কাপে চুমুক দিতে দিতে রাজনীতি বা সমাজের বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে কথাবার্তা বলে। প্রায়শই অকর্মন্য লোকেরা চা-এর দোকানে অহেতুক গল্প করে সময় কাটায়। একটা চা-এর দোকানে সকাল থেকে মধ্যরাত অবধি লোক সমাগম থাকে।

A Tea Stall
A tea-stall is a small shop where prepared tea is served to the customers. Tea is a very popular drink all over the world. Nowadays, it is popular in our country. This is why, tea-stalls are found everywhere in the towns and village bazars. It is normally seen at the turn of the road, in the railway station, in the bus stop, near an office and factory. Most of the tea-stalls are not well-furnished. Some tables and chairs are placed in the tea-stall. Some of the tea-stalls engage boys to serve tea to the customers. Here, hot tea, biscuits, bread, cakes, betel leaf and cigarettes are sold. It remains open whole day long. It becomes very lively, particularly in the morning and evening. A tea-stall is always busy and crowded. It plays an important role in life of the local people. Anyone staying here can get information of the whole world. Newspapers are also placed on the tables. Vulgar talks are also held here. Hot political discussions are also run here. A tea-stall is a favourite meeting place of all classes of people. It becomes busier at the time of general election and other religious festivals.
অনুবাদ : চায়ের দোকান হলো ছোট্ট একটি দোকান যেখানে ক্রেতাদেরকে তৈরি চা পরিবেশন করা হয়। সারাবিশ্বে চা অতি জনপ্রিয় পানীয়। বর্তমানে আমাদের দেশেও জনপ্রিয়। শহর এবং গ্রামের বাজারে সর্বত্রই চায়ের দোকান দেখা যায়। সাধারণত রাস্তার মোড়ে, রেলওয়ে স্টেশনে, বাস স্ট্যান্ডে, অফিস কিংবা কারখানার নিকট এটা দেখা যায়। অধিকাংশ চায়ের দোকানই সুসজ্জিত হয়। কিছু চেয়ার টেবিল বসানো হয় চায়ের দোকানে। কিছু কিছু চায়ের দোকানে ছোট ছেলে রাখা হয় চা পরিবেশনের জন্য। এখানে গরম চা, বিস্কুট, রুটি, কেক, পান এবং সিগারেট বিক্রি করা হয়। সারাদিন এটা খোলা থাকে। বিশেষভাবে সকাল এবং সন্ধ্যায় এটা প্রাণবন্ত থাকে । একটি চায়ের দোকানে সব সময় ভিড় থাকে। স্থানীয় জনসাধারণের জীবনে এটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে। এখানে বসে কেউ সারাবিশ্বের তথ্য পেতে পারে। টেবিলে সংবাদপত্রও দেয়া থাকে। এখানে অনেক নোংরা আলোচনাও হয়। গরম রাজনৈতিক আলোচনাও চলে এখানে। সমস্ত শ্রেণির লোকদের মিলনস্থল হলো চায়ের দোকান। সাধারণ নির্বাচন কিংবা ধর্মীয় অনুষ্ঠানের সময় এটা আরও ব্যস্ত থাকে।
