A RAINY DAY ( একটি বর্ষণমুখর দিন)
A rainy day is a day when it rains heavily all day long. This is a common phenomenon (ঘটনা ) in the rainy season. A rainy day is wet. On a rainy day, the sky remains overcast (মেঘাচ্ছন্ন). The day looks gloomy. The sun hides itself behind the clouds and seldom (কদাচিৎ) comes out. Occasionally, gusty (ঝড়ো ) wind blows at a huge speed. Sometimes it drizzles, and other times it rains a lot. Thunder is frequently heard in the skies. It is rare to observe birds flying. They continue to stand amidst the leaves on tree branches. Cattle keep standing in their sheds. Sometimes, the rain continues for days nonstop. Roads go under water. Water accumulates (জমে যায়) and drainage system becomes problematic. The roads become muddy and slippery. The office-goers go out with umbrellas over their head, shoes in hand and clothes folded up to their knees. On a rainy day, I remain in my house and read storybooks. A rainy day is a curse (অভিশাপ) to the poor people. They cannot go out for work and earn their food. It causes huge suffering to the rickshaw pullers and day labourers. The students cannot go to their schools and feel like holiday. The children pass a rainy day by playing some indoor games like ludu and chess. Rainy day gives me much pleasure. I enjoy the heavy rainfall. On a rainy day, I sit beside the window of my room and enjoy the harmonious song of rain. Sometimes, I love to eat snacks on this day. After all, we experience both happiness and sadness on rainy days. It affects various social classes in various ways.
বঙ্গানুবাদ : বর্ষণমুখর দিন হলো এমন একটা দিন যখন সারাদিন মুষলধারে বৃষ্টি হয়। বৃষ্টির দিনে এটি একটি সাধারণ ঘটনা। বৃষ্টির দিন আর্দ্র থাকে। বৃষ্টির দিনে আকাশ মেঘাচ্ছন্ন থাকে। দিনটি অন্ধকারময় দেখায়। সূর্য নিজেকে মেঘের আড়ালে লুকিয়ে ফেলে এবং কদাচিৎ বের হয়ে আসে। মাঝে মধ্যে ঝড়ো বাতাস তীব্র গতিতে বইতে থাকে। কখনও গুঁড়ি গুঁড়ি, আবার কখনও প্রচুর বৃষ্টি হয়। আকাশে ঘন ঘন বজ্রধ্বনি শোনা যায়। পাখিদের উড়তে দেখা বিরল। তারা গাছের ডালে পাতার মাঝে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে। গবাদি পশুরা চাদের গোয়ালে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে। মাঝে মধ্যে কয়েকদিন ধরে বিরামহীনভাবে বৃষ্টি হয়। রাস্তাঘাট পানির নীচে চলে যায়। পানি জমে যায় এবং নর্দমার নিষ্কাশন আটকে যায়। রাস্তাঘাট কর্দমাক্ত ও পিচ্ছিল হয়ে পড়ে। অফিসগামী লোকজন ছাতা মাথায় হাতে জুতো নিয়ে হাঁটুর পর কাপড় ভাঁজ করে বের হয়ে পড়ে। বৃষ্টির দিনে আমি বাড়িতে থাকি ও গল্পের বই পড়ি। বৃষ্টির দিন দরিদ্রদের জন্য একটা অভিশাপ রূপ। তারা তাদের কাজ ও জীবিকা উপার্জনের জন্য বাইরে যেতে পারে না। এটি রিকশা চালক ও দিনমজুরদের অনেক কষ্টের কারণ য়ে দাঁড়ায়। ছেলেমেয়েরা স্কুলে যেতে পারে না এবং ছুটির দিনের মত অনুভব করে। ছেলেমেয়েরা লুডু ও দাবা খেলার মত কিছু ঘরোয়। খলা খেলে বৃষ্টির দিন অতিবাহিত করে। বৃষ্টির দিন আমাকে অনেক আনন্দ দেয়। আমি ভারী বর্ষণ উপভোগ করি। বৃষ্টির দিনে আমি হামার কক্ষের জানালার পাশে বসি এবং বৃষ্টির সুরেলা গান উপভোগ করি। এ দিনে মাঝে মধ্যে আমি নাস্তা খেতে ভালোবাসি। সর্বোপরি, বৃষ্টির দিনে আমরা সুখ এবং দুঃখ উভয়ই অনুভব করি। এটি বিভিন্ন সামাজিক শ্রেণীকে বিভিন্নভাবে প্রভাবিত করে।
